Dear Mother - This week everything is going will. Today Elroy & I celebrated & had a bang-up feed in a cafe; everything from soup to nuts except the soup and nuts. Elroy is looking fine now, plump & ruddy like a plucked -------, but my appearance is hampered by my mustache, which I preserve as French people do not like beardless youths. Yesterday we made a desparate attempt to get a real bath in real water but after an hours wait at the bath house down to the green & chilly river. Was very glad to receive your letter of Aug. 5, which just came in. Have you heard from me yet. With love, Philip.
